NAU opens eSports Lab

Today the CYBERSPORT IT-BootCamp NAU Laboratory was opened at the Faculty of Cybersecurity, Computer and Software Engineering, the first of its kind in Ukraine's higher educational facilities. The laboratory, where NAU will be training, was founded with the support of PJSC Oschadbank of Ukraine and Mastercard.

During the opening ceremony, Rector Volodymyr Isaienko emphasized that the project gives the opportunity to the NAU e-sportsmen to enhance their skills and show a better game at Ukrainian and international competitions. He thanked the sponsors and the Ministry of Education for their support in implementing the innovative project. "I congratulate our students on the opening of the laboratory and I would like to point out that our university is the one place that will help you realize your most daring ideas."

Vadym Stetsenko, chairman of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, said: "Creating such a laboratory within your university means innovation. The Ministry, for its part, initiated international e-sports competitions with a combination of mobile activities, as the development of e-sports is a promising area, so we are grateful to the University for this cooperation."

Serhiy Kriuchkov, Head of Oschadbank Headquarters for Kyiv and Kyiv Region, noted that "eSports today is not only an independent industry with great potential, but also a unique channel of interaction with a young audience. That is why Oschadbank has decided to support aspiration of NAU students to develop and conquer new highs."

Today, the CS: GO LAN Final of NAU Rector's Cup began at the NAU Assembly Hall among NAU students in the 5 on 5 format.
