Advanced training on the course «Learn Moodle 3.9 Basics»

Liudmyla Kucherova, the Head of the Electronic Distance Learning Laboratory, Marharyta Nikiforova, the leading specialist of the e-learning laboratory and Professor Natalia Muranova, the Director of the Institute of Innovative Educational Technologies  improved their skills on the course "Learn Moodle 3.9 Basics", dedicated to using the updated version of the Moodle platform for teaching disciplines.

 

The course lasted 4 weeks and included video lectures, short summaries, tests, workshops, practical creation of your own course, online meetings with the organizers using the Big Blue Button service and communication with the community of people who also use Moodle at work.

 

It’s important to note that  Moodle is one of the most popular platforms for distance learning, which is used worldwide.  Moodle combines features for:

  • placement of educational materials (texts of lectures, tasks for practical / laboratory and independent works; additional materials (books, reference books, manuals, methodical developments) in .doc, .odt, .html, .pdf formats, as well as video, audio and presentation materials in various formats and through additional plugins);
  • automation of the process of testing knowledge, reports of students’ passing the course and reports of passing students' tests;
  • tools for group work (Wiki, forum, chat, seminar, webinar);
  • communication with participants of educational process through personal messages, forum, chat;
  • rapid modification of educational materials;
  • use of different types of tests;
  • download files with completed tasks;
  • using of reminders about events of the course;
  • monitoring and support of the educational process by teachers and

 

As the materials of the course  «Learn Moodle 3.9 Basics» are available in English only and it can be difficult for beginners and the the Electronic Distance Learning Laboratory plans to hold series of webinars.
